Can darkness be stringy?
Our universe seems to be just entering a phase of acceleration,
perhaps indicative of an $ev-mev$ scale of physics. In this paper we
suggest an alternative mechanism where the current acceleration is not
due to new physics at $ev$ scale but because of interactions between
the stringy dark components. In this model we also show how one may be
able to explain the large hierarchy between the mass scale of current
acceleration and the Planck mass, by relating it to another ``large''
parameter, the number of efoldings during primordial inflation.
