Gamma-Ray Burst Afterglows
Gamma Ray Bursts have been incomprehensible for decades, but in
the past couple of years there has been an enormous improvement in
the data and their understanding, thanks, in particular, to the
discovery of "afterglows": emissions in all bands from the radio
to X rays that outlast the brief gamma ray pulses and are
sometimes observable for years. In an informal seminar (unexpected
and unprepared) I shall describe the progress in this field.
