How nonperturbative supersymmetric dynamics can solve the
(s)flavor problem(s).
Strong interactions can cause powerful violations of classical
dimensional analysis. In particular, even in theories with
supersymmetry and a fundamental Higgs boson, the fermion mass
hierarchy need not be visible in any physics at gravitational
scales. Instead it can be generated, out of a model with no
hierarchy whatsoever, by renormalization group effects due to a
strongly coupled sector. In some models, these effects can also
simultaneously ameliorate the supersymmetric flavor problem of
hidden sector supergravity-based models.
