This is not a problem with monopole monitoring, since we are talking
about ERP channels here, aren't we? For monopole calibration or
monitoring events, having the ERP fire from a fakebox isn't necessary
(and perhaps not even desirable). There is a separate LED calibration
bit in the SPU that does fine for flagging these events.

Now if you're talking about combining inputs to the SPU, then we have
a potential problem.

The main reason for having an LED input channel on the ERP is so that
you can do TDC calibrations. And *that* you're never going to do during
normal running!
