I implemented the ERP Bari box today. Here is what I did:
-- On each SM, I pulled out the LED fake box signal from box 98 (ERP
hardware channel 40) and ORed it into box 97 (ERP hardware channel 56)
with the attico laser signal. Box 99 (ERP hardware channel 48), used
for the lower laser signal, was left alone.
-- Into each SM's box 98 fanout channel (under W07) I plugged a copy
of the corresponding microvax's Bari trigger (from the place where
Chris had fanned it out to use for the LIP).
-- I modified the LUTs for the box 98 channel such that only Elow
triggers can be produced for this channel, i.e. the Ehigh trigger bits
were all set to zero.
This is the simplest possible Bari box configuration--later I may try other
things like cross-uvax Bari triggers, and/or possibly ORing in other
triggers, although I may leave this for a later trip. BTW, Rich has
pointed out that the possibility of ORing in extra triggers to use for
muon veto in the ERP GC monitor is yet another advantage of having a
dedicated Bari box, as opposed to the Bari trigger ORed in with a calib
fake box.]
The immediate consequence of this is of course that most ERP muons
will have a box 98 hit read out in the ERP. (I checked this with the
mini-acq on each microvax).
I hope that not too much software breaks because of this. If you happen
to be looking at data, please let me know if you notice anything strange.
Kate.
