I would like to list a few things that need to be taken care of in
the counting room in order to render MACRO Shifter's life easier.
I invite persons responsible for each item to take action ASAP.
(1) PS Printer in Computer Room is working but can only print through
VAXGS and not from VXMACB, where the printer is connected (...)
(2) Netscape does not work on VSMAC2/VSMAC3/VSMAC4 since latest system
disk change on VSMAC3. Only solution is to connect to VAXGS, set
the display and start netscape remotely. I remind you that NETSCAPE
is essential to monitor Macro-On-Line, especially for the U.S.
shifter.
(3) DGN/EVD randomly crash on VSMAC2. Problems appear to be related to
GIF files exported to the Bologna server. Only solution is to run
EVD on VSMAC1 (no .GIF production). DGN crashes ~ every 2 hours.
(4) New HIP runs on VSMAC3, but appears to be an earlier (?) version
that requires CTRL-C every time one needs to choose a different
histogram. Old HIP doesn't work; Tektronix terminal appears to be
broken.
(5) MACRO Magic Handbook should be re-printed (and maybe updated ?)
and old versions removed; they simply confuse people.
(6) Mouse/mouse-pads need to be changed on all graphics terminals.
Hope I am not forgetting anything.
