Dear MACRO Collaborators,

in order to understand the effects of the 'Y2K problem' on the MACRO
acquisition system (partially) and the offline analysis procedures,
a test was performed in which the apparatus was running with a fake date
and time on the backup acq system (VSMAC1). Three runs of data were recorded
with the following specs:

-run091641 : started at 31-dec-1999:23:47 with MV#1,#2,#3 - 20 minutes long
             (~48Kblocks)
-run091642 : started at 01-jan-2000:00:10 with MV#1,#2,#3 - 20 minutes long
             (~48Kblocks)
-run091643 : started at 01-jan-2000:00:40 with MV#1,#2,#3,#6 - 20 minutes long
             (~49Kblocks)

These runs are now in VXMACA::HSD000$DUA0:[DATA] and will be copied and
processed as normal runs. In order to avoid storage in the DLTs, just after
that will be copied to the directory AXMAC1:DKA100::[MACRODATA.TDST].
DSTs will be produced and stored in the same area as soon as possible.
Please use these DSTs for analysis and to understand if any difference is
produced by the change of year.

Runly yours,

                                        The GS group shiftworkers
