Dip-switches are used to configure the base address for each WFD. There are two dip-switches on the board, and not all individual switches are used, so pay attention. The 9 most significant bits are handled by the lower dip-switch at U51: switch 1 is bit 31 and switch 9 is bit 23. Switch 10 is unused. Bits 22-17 are handled by switches 1-6 respectively on the upper dip-switch at U64, 7 and 8 are unused. Setting a switch UP represents a binary 1. Every WFD in the detector has a unique base address. There is an offset for each supermodule as follows: supermodule base address set these switches up on U51 ------------ ------------ ------------------------------ SM-1 $0100 0000 switch 8 SM-2 $0200 0000 switch 7 SM-3 $0300 0000 switch 7 and 8 SM-4 $0400 0000 switch 6 SM-5 $0500 0000 switch 6 and 8 SM-6 $0600 0000 switch 6 and 7 Within a supermodule, the offset for each card can be found in the following table. I refer to the card by the tanks that it handles; you may wish to refer to FANIN4TO1.TXT for clarification. In this table I list the switches to set up (logic 1) for each card. Note: 'n' is used below to refer to supermodule number. tanks base address set these switches up on U64 ------------ ------------ ------------------------------ nB01-nB08 $0n00 0000 none nB09-nB16 $0n04 0000 switch 5 nC01-nC08 $0n08 0000 switch 4 nC09-nC16 $0n0C 0000 switches 5 and 4 nW01-nW07 $0n10 0000 switch 3 nE01-nE07 $0n14 0000 switches 3 and 5 nW08-nW14 $0n18 0000 switches 3 and 4 nE08-nE14 $0n1C 0000 switches 3 and 5 and 4 nT01-nT08 $0n20 0000 switche 2 nT09-nT16 $0n24 0000 switches 2 and 5 nN01-nN07 $0n28 0000 switches 2 and 4
