P3-POWER.TXT 22-June-1994 ETK ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The P3 connector for the WFD carries the D.C. power to the board. The connector is a 96 pin connector with 3 rows by 32 columns. Each DC level is carried on a group of 4x3 pins. The ground is on the last 12x3 pins. connector nom. volt. approx. curr. / wfd ----------------------------------------------------------- rows 1- 4 -2 V 4.5 A rows 5- 8 +5 V 5.0 A stopped, 8.0 A running rows 9-12 -5.2 V 2.0 A rows 13-16 +6 V rows 17-20 -6 V rows 21-32 GND ----------------------------------------------------------- The voltages listed are the nominal voltage required by various chips on the WFD board. The +-6 V is mostly for the daughtercard Op-Amps. The -5.2 V supply is for ECL components. The -2 V is mostly used for the ASIC. The +5 V is used by almost every component as a TTL level. The actual voltage at the P3 connector may be higher to compensate for a voltage drop between the connector and the chips.
