Hi all,
I've put in AXPGS0::DISK$MACROSCRA3:[MACROUSA0.BACKUP] a new DLT copier
script called TAPEMAKE3.COM that basically superseeds all other DLT tape
making scripts (of the *TAPEMAKE2.COM family). I'll be exercising it
extensively over the weekend so that to expore any possible bugs.
The highlights of this new version are:
o It reads the TAPE LABEL from the DIRECTORY where you are when launching
the job, e.g., if you launch it from [.GC012] it will automatically
prompt you for a default tape label as GC012
o No need to have separate script for separate file type (e.g. one for GC,
one for RARE etc).
o It e-mails to macro-gs@budoe.bu.edu the completion of the job and attaches
to the e-mail subject the following: TAPE LABEL, MOUNT FLAG (i.e., foreign
or not foreign), INITIALIZATIOn FLAG (i.e., yes or no) and TAPE UNIT name.
You can obviously keep using all previous scripts. TAPEMAKE3.COM should be
fully backwards compatible.
Incidentally, ONLINE LGB has been broken since 1-JAN-2000. There had been
no LGB file processing since then. I have adapted Mario SItta's Y2K fixes
on the ONLINE code and reprossesed all RUNs that *completed* in year 2000.
I have created proper subdirectories under the top LGB web page for year 1999
(it will take some time until this is completed... these are huge directories!).
This is in order to avoid loading huge INDEX files. Only LGB files created
within 2000 should be automatically loaded from now on.
Please report any problems or errors.
Thanks,
--Erik
