Data shift report (22-May-2000 to 26-May-2000)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
by Massimo Orsini
From run 19555 to 19580
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
GENERAL COMMENTS:
During this week the acquisition got problem from run 19566 till 19573
because the TOHM lower power supply on SM3 failed increasing the uvax2
tohm rates.
For this reason, the DDNOW analysis for those runs didn't create the
RARE DSTs because the uVax2 tohm trigger rate was too high....all of
them were manually fixed by excluding the tohm trigger.
Furthermore we checked all PMTs on SM2 by using the scope and the html
file was updated which contains now all the last PMT logbook entries of
the whole SM1 and SM2.
REPAIRED HARDWARE:
The original tohm lower power supply was fixed by replacing the big cap
of 20000uF and another one was fixed/tested under load (3A) for one hour.
The WFD clock module was fixed by replacing a couple of tantalium caps,
although it still shows an offset of 1.8 V when all outputs are 50ohm
terminated.
OIL CHECK: (By Roberto Giuliani)
This week, the MACRO oil check was performed on west side from SM1
to SM3.
No-Q responses:
every run gets at least a couple of no-Q responses from M:2 B:2 C:5 N:21
(SM3 ERP SUPERVISOR) which are still caused by ERP events in which are
involved the west attico counters.
TRIGGER RATES:
TOHM --> 4T13 ~5mHz, 5B13 ~4mHz, 5B12 ~3mHz
ERP --> 3B07 ~6mHz
LIP --> 1B16 ~0.3mHz(!), 1B12~0.9mHz, 1B14~0.7mHz, 2E10 ~4.5mHz,
3E04 ~6mHz, 5T02 ~0.5mHz(!), 6T12 ~9mHz
ERP-GC --> 1E01 ~125mHz, 6W12 ~100mHz, 6S04 ~120mHz, 6S07 ~70mHz.
LAMOSSKA:
Last week we still got several fake LAMOSSKA triggers from SM5
(LAM50) but after having unplugged some cable from the latching
scaler they are now much less.
We don't get more than 5 lamosska triggers from SM5 and one or
two of them are due to real events.
FMT rates: we get at laest one FMT trigger per run and no more than three
of them and they seem to be justified (by checking the Lane's
EVD).
CSPAM/ERP efficiency:
3B07 ~40%, 4E14 ~60% and 6T09~60%.
ERP/LIP efficiency:
Low efficiency for 1B12, 1B14, 1B16,1T15, 1C08, 1C14, 1C15, 5T02, 6C09
and 6C10.
SPU: still hits on ERPI, ERPII, SPARE and LED on uVax1 (sometime 1/2 VETO
bits too).
STOP MASTER:
Some fake hits on SM4@CITm. (No more than 4 hits per run)
DATA REPROCESSING: (by Nicola Zaccheo)
The processing of DD286 is now over and the processing of all tapes from
DDM10 to DDM01 has been done;
the following report is a Nicola Zaccheo's summary of the GC DSTs files
re-production respect to the real time one:
I checked files from GCD01 up to GCD10 (period 04-JUL-1998 to 14-SEP-1999)
that correspond to NGC021 up to NGC031 - last DD completed (DD283).
I scanned 2541 files and I produced a ntuple in order to confront
the files in both kind of tapes using also the raw size, the EOR,
the duration and the run type informations from the LGB files.
I'd like to remember you that the GCD** files were produced in ZEB format
at that time.
5 files were not present in the NGC tapes because they were missed from DD:
run type duration (probably) DD
16720 Normal 4.80 hrs 217
91068 Normal 0.12 hrs 190
91478 SM cal 0.83 hrs 272
91479 SM cal 0.30 hrs 272
91480 SM cal 0.86 hrs 272
I have recovered those GC files from corresponding GCD. They are now
in DISK$MACROSCRA3:[MACROUSA0.BACKUP.WORK] (110407 blocks) and we should
convert in RAW files before putting them at the end of the corresponding
NGC tapes.
As we know, 3 files were copied twice in the DDs and I found two version
of related GC DSTs on NGC tapes:
run 91245 and 91246 (DD220-DD221), run 91498 (both copies in DD275)
The LGB file **DOESN'T EXIST** for run 16224. It is a full run (5.7 hrs)
but the MUON DST file exists for it
(DISK$STOREDST:[DST.16000]RUN016224.TDST;1 9900/9905 blks)
Confronting the size of the ZEB files (GCD**) respect to the RAW one (NGC**)
I found that:
(1) ABS(sizZEB - sizRAW)mean = 7656 rms = 3813
(2) (ABS(sizZEB - sizRAW)/sizRAW)mean = 0.1722 rms = 0.18
Number of runs with (2) out of 3-sigma cut: 89
Number of runs with (2) out of 4-sigma cut: 53
Number of runs with (2) out of 5-sigma cut: 15
