Data shift report (19-Jun-2000 to 23-Jun-2000)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
  by Nicola Zaccheo
  From run 19654 to 19676
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Run 19658 (20-Jun) crashed for 'machine check'. A PHRASE fan-unit broke
 on SM5. Run 19659 started after the fan-unit replacing but we stopped
 it again because of a high PHRASE rate on SM5 (two Pisa modules didn't
 work fine for a high temperature problem).
 Run 19660 started w/o PHRASE on SM5/6 but we stopped it immediately --> synchr.
 problems. Run 19661 started but TOHM fired on uVax3: the CAMAC list was not
 loaded properly..Finally run 19662 started w/o problems.

 During run 19672 (22-Jun) the LeCroy power supply went off on uVax1. Some
 workers that were installing some new safety systems unplugged the power
 chord of the supply. Roberto started a new run that gave still PHRASE
 sync. problems. Finally run 19674 started w/o SM1 and SM2 in order to turn
 on the LeCroy. The first run with full detector was run 19675.

 There are still a couple of no Q responses per run from M:2,B:2,C:5,N:21
 During these events ERP triggers on SM3 (often alone) but seems that no
 real event occurs. Sometime we received 1 no Q from M:1,B:2,C:6,N:21 too.

 A lot of rate warnings (Chuck's web page) during run 19663 (20-Jun)
 around 6:00-7:00 PM

   TRIGGER RATES:

            TOHM --> 4T13 ~8mHz, 4T15 ~3mHz, 4T17 ~3mHz.
                      During run 19676 5B04 at ~26mHz. Noise on corresponding
                      TOHM lower channel that I fixed (handling cables) during
                      run 19677.
           ERP --> 3B07 ~5.5mHz
           LIP --> 1B12 ~0.8mHz, 1B14 ~0.6mHz, 1B16 ~0.2mHz(!), 1C08 ~1.3mHz,
                      1C15 ~0.6mHz, 2E10 ~9mHz, 3E04 ~6.5mHz, 5T02 ~1.2mHz,
                      6T12 ~11mHz
           ERP-GC --> 1E01 ~80mHz, 6W12 ~90mHz, 6S04 ~90mHz.
           PHRASE --> 1E09 ~28mHz, 2W14 ~27mHz

   FMT:

           still not clear triggers on uVax2 during a couple of runs.
           3 FMT (together with CSPAM) triggers on uVax2 during run 19674
           without boxes firing;
           5 events during run 19676 but only one of them (in which is
           also present a CSPAM trigger) seems not good (there are no boxes
           firing). See DISK$MACROSCRA:[ZACCHEO]index.html for the event
           browser of these last events.

   LAMOSSKA:

      There are still not justified LAMOSSKA triggers for SM5 (LAM5-0).

    CSPAM/ERP efficiency:

      The only box with systematic inefficiency is 3B07 (~50%).

    ERP/LIP efficiency:

      Low efficiency for 1B12, 1B14, 1B16,1C08, 1C13, 1C14, 1C15, 5T02, 6C09
      and 6C10.

    SPU: still hits on ERPI, ERPII, SPARE, LAS and LED on uVax1 (sometime 1/2
         VETO bits too).

    STOP MASTER:

      No problems reported.

    PMTs CHECK:

     I checked the PMTs status on SM6. The worst situations are:

           6B04-0 dynode peak, gain at -4.5 mV/spe
           6B04-1 filled in spe, gain at -4.5 mV/spe
           6B11-1 very bright with a (old) strong dynode peak
           6B15-0 bad signal - variable brightness, filled and unstable
           6C16-0 bad signal - variable brightness, filled and unstable
           6W06-1 gain found at -1.9 mV !!!
           6T11-0 very bright and filled in spe.

     The complete list will be available in the PMTs logbook on the Web pages
     as soon as possible.

    CALIBRATION:

     LED/TDC and LASER calibrations for full detector last Wednesday.
     During run 91899 (Laser lower on uVax2) no Laser hits on SM3:
     Roberto started this calibration and he reports that the fake box
     was working.
     No problems for the other calibrations (In the e-mail that Roberto sent
     us there is a mistake regarding run 91902 that is, intead, a good Laser
     lower run on Uvax3.)

    CALMOD:

      3 weeks analysed for ERP constants: ref. runs 19596, 19616 and 19640.
      They cover the period till Wednesday, 21-Jun-2000
