Data shift report (10-Jul-2000 to 14-Jul-2000)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
  by Nicola Zaccheo
  From run 19720 to 19734
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------

 During this week one run only crashed (run 19727) for Network abnormal
 condition while a lot of power glitches occured in Hall B.
 I stopped run 19726 to put back in acquisition 4B10 and 4C02.

 We had some problems with the Gas System that often went (and still goes)
 off. This also caused some fluctuation in the data rate.

 We received a couple of data rates warning during the week. I'd like to point
 out that:
  - it seems that sometimes there are some high data rate (mostly at beginning
    of the run) and then a low data rate warning;
  - the gas system is 'crazy' in the sense that it often goes off;
  - the box 1T13 has a not constant TOHM trigger rate. Its mean rate is ranging
    between 0.2 - 0.6 mHz with 18mHz during run19704, 22.8mHz during run19728
    and ~6mHz during run19729. I checked the PMTs signals that look O.K..I'd
    like to check the LeCroy channels for this counter;
  - there are some "Chuck's" rate warnings diffused on the entire detector
    during runs 19728-19729 (at 11:00PM-01:00AM) and 19731 (10-11PM).

 'Usual' couple of no Q responses per run from M:2,B:2,C:5,N:21

 We received some PHRASE L/R warnings regarding 1B09 (L/R ~ 1.2),
 5E01 (run19730 - L/R ~ 1.3) and 6E07 (run19731 - L/R ~ 1.5)
 Sometimes there are big peaks on LSCM from SM1 (Pazzi allerted)

 Yesterday we received two consecutively EMILY warnings: "could not
 initialize mainframes 2,4,5,6. I had no problems in reading the PMT HV
 values using HV. I ran EMILY interactively w/o receiving any problems..
 No other of such warnings since then.

   TRIGGER RATES:

            TOHM --> 4T13 ~8mHz, 5B13 ~4mHz. 1T13 had some variations in its
                      trigger rate (see previuos comment)
           ERP --> 3B07 ~5.2mHz
           LIP --> 1B12 ~0.8mHz, 1B14 ~0.8mHz, 1B16 ~0.2mHz(!), 1C08 ~1.3mHz,
                      1C15 ~1.2mHz, 2E10 ~11mHz, 3E04 ~6.5mHz, 3W13~0.9mHz,
                      5T02 ~1mHz, 6C09 ~1.8mHz, 6C10 ~1.9mHz, 6T12 ~9mHz
           ERP-GC --> 6W12 ~90mHz, 6S04 ~80mHz.
           PHRASE --> 1E08 ~26mHz, 5B04 ~28mHz. During run 19731 5W11 ~54mHz(!)

   FMT:

      4 FMT23 events that seem not justified during run 19716

   LAMOSSKA:

      There are still not justified LAMOSSKA triggers for SM5 (LAM5-0).

    CSPAM/ERP efficiency:

      The boxes with systematic inefficiency: 3B07 (~50%), 4T12 (~78%)
      3B10 (~70%), 3B11(~79%), 3W01 (~70%) and 3E07(~79%).

    ERP/LIP efficiency:

      Low efficiency for 1B12, 1B14, 1B16, 1C08, 1C13, 1C14, 1C15,
      5T02, 6C09 and 6C10 (sometime also for 1T16, 3W13 and 15E13)

    SPU: still hits on ERPI, ERPII, SPARE, LAS and LED on uVax1 (sometime 1/2
         VETO bits too).

    STOP MASTER:

      No problems reported.

    PMTs CHECK:

     Robert checked the PMTs status on SM3. See his e-mail for detailes.

    CALMOD:

      1 weeks analysed for ERP constants, ref. run 19709
      They cover the period till Wednesday, 12-Jul-2000

    Various:

    On Monday I found that the copy of the runs from the 'galleria' to
    AXMAC1 stopped at 2-Jul because of network problems. Alessandra restarted
    everything.

    On Monday we replaced two flasher PMTs with two good ones on 4B10 and 4C02.
    I have identified the 5 worst counters that need a tank end operation.
    They are 3E07-0, 3C12-0, 3C16-1, 3C05-1 and 3E06-0.

    I made a backup of TRK/CAL/PS/RZ files on MACROCAL DISK$SCRAUSA4 area.
    Furthermore, I copied real time RARE/GC DSTs on RDS59 and GCD14 resp.

    I prepared the PMT gain plots based on last June measurements. I added them
    on MACRO HARDWARE INFO Web page.

    We started the inventory of US equipement inside MACRO acquisition. I have
    also started the inventory of the equipement outside the acquisition. The
    newt week a first inventory draft will be ready.

    Erik noticed that the Online Logbook page for the lates MACRO run was
    stopped at run19692 (29-Jun-2000). The LGBWWW job was executing since
    yestarday morning (13-JUL-00)..The last LGBWWW execution crashed for
    network problems..I stopped and relaunched the job.
