Hi guys,
this is a brief weekend shift report:
first of all, saturday morning I found out that all runs from 18648 to 18651
were classified as laser calibration runs but I didn't find any SPU laser bits
on. Furthermore, ERP on SM1 wasn't working well, the ERP AMP cables of the south
face were left unplugged and during run 18651 the counter 4T11-1 started firing
increasing the uVax2 dead time and the corresponding Tohm trigger rates
(>250mHz).
For these reasons, I stopped the run 18652 in order to turn off 4T11-1 which
was flashing and I also reloaded LUT's on SM1.
I also reloaded LUT's to the south face because I previously noticed that, by
re-connecting the AMP cables to the ERP Sample/Hold cards, some trigger
processor LED's started blinking showing a high trigger rates probably due to
a low threshold for the Hamamatzu PMT's installed to the south face.
Notice that, before stopping the run, I also reset the gain for two south face
counters:
6S02-1 is working now at -1420V instead of -1450V
6S07-0 is working now at -1540V instead of -1560V
After having done that, unfortunately three counters of the south face (6S01,
6S05 and 6S07) started firing and I decided to left the south face AMP cables
still unplugged from ERP sample/hold cards.
Besides, during run 18563 all SM1 ERP cards were actually still giving fake
triggers which could corrupt analyses...notice that the histogram presenter
was showing hits coming also from laser lower fake box (that's why all runs
were classified as laser calibration data !!!).
For each muon that triggered ERP on SM1 the EVD often turned on the bottom
counters (from 1B01 to 1B04) and some counters of the top face without reason.
So, I stopped rhe run 18653 to take the uVax1 out from ACQ. and I did power
cycle the ERP VME and Camac crates on SM1.
After having logged data during a miniACQ, Erik suggested to put uVax1
back in acquisition because SM1 ERP seemed to be OK.
Unfortunately, sunday it showed the same behaviour thus I stopped the run
18658 to turn off the ERP VME crate in order to take it out from ACQ.
Anyways, all LGB entries regarding the type of data (which were automatically
set as laser calibration data) for all runs involved on this problem were
already manually set like normal data.
A presto,
Massimo Orsini
